But I don't think it's as critical as many people tend to think. The unlocking of characters via personal quests, prosperity system, and path-choosing are missing but they are not that different from what Guildmaster offers. ![]() Guildmaster uses 85% of the original Gloomhaven game mechanics and improves on some of them. That's why it was "relatively" easy to create three other campaigns - the Forgotten Circles, the Jaws of the Lion, and now Frosthaven -> because the game mechanics had been created, tested, and proven awesome. But it works in tandem with all the other elements - it's not that brilliant in itself. The campaign is a (admittedly great) variation of the "choose your own adventure" system - it's just another cog in the amazing engine that's Gloomhaven. ![]() I respectfully disagree - I think that what makes Gloomhaven awesome is the game mechanics. When people think of Gloomhaven they don't think of that awesome Guildmaster mode found only in the digital version, they think of the campaign. ![]() That's what the whole thing is (or at least was) about.
